The journey continues...

I have yet to post anything on the birth of the new addition to our family. I've just been to busy coping with a newborn and his toddler sister, who is in the midst of her Terrible Two-s, going on to Terrible Three-s. Looking into the face of my new son reminds my of how blessed my husband and I are - twice. We could not ask for two more beautiful, intelligent, unique children than the ones we already have. Al-hamdulillah.

Looking back, I have come to realize what an incredible journey our lives have been since the birth of our eldest daughter, Amni Syakirah, almost 3 years ago. Her birth was a significant moment when we realized that we were both in this for the long run and that all the trials life has pushed at us was worth it in the end.

Since then, our life has been one snapshot of memory after another...

And now we get to do it all over again...

What more can any parent ask for? Welcome to the world, Asyraf Zakhwan... my darling.

Life Goes On in the Big Durian

>> Wednesday, January 27, 2010

It's my first day back at the office. A little nervous but mostly just really lazy to go back to work. Alas! Such is my fate and that of my spouse and offspring, since the poverty line for life here in... since New York is The Big Apple, I guess that makes Kuala Lumpur - The Big Durian (?), is 3K, we cannot afford to have me quit my job.

So here I am, in the training room, supposedly for a refresher training since I've been on maternity leave for 2 months and all, looking for ways to bypass blocked proxies and play Mafia Wars. Since I've been gone, apparently our Chief Technical Officer has since completely blocked Facebook. I guess blocking Java applications wasn't enough for him. Not that I completely blame him. The kids who work here are ingenious when it comes to ways to access blocked sites and applications... including doing remote access to the computer in the training room to Torrent stuff. Pure evil LOL! Which gives yours truly an evil yet sheer genius plan to play MW from the office.I don't dare say it out loud just yet. I'll keep y'all posted in case it works *EVIL LAUGH*

As I'm typing this, my trainer is doing God-knows-what while completely ignoring me here typing away. Ahhh, if only I can play MW or stream my shows. But all is not lost. I can still view blogs, thus I am catching up on my online shopping hehe...

Oh - and I suppose I should mention that I finally got my custom CPU built for me and I am now good and ready to play most graphics-heavy game available MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I am so happy with the specs, eventhough I haven't actually formatted it and installed anything yet, but - hey! Check this out:-

  • AMD Phenom X4 3.2GHz ( Quadcore baby, yeah!)
  • ATI Radeon™ HD 4670 1GB
  • DDR3 2GB
  • 500GB HDD

Yeah, the MoBo and power unit themselves are generic but decent. But yeay for Quadcore! Sims3 here I come!!!
