Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008)

Went to see Hellboy on Sunday. Woops! Cannot say the "H***" word. Scratch that. We'll take it from the top.

Went to see the second installment of Super Sapiens on Sunday at GSC Mid Valley. Dropped off my darling little girl at her grandma's first. Ayah and Mama need to have some quality time too hehehe. We didn't book any tickets coz we weren't sure we wanted to go. So when we got there, the line was all the way to the popcorn stand! But okay, whatever-la
h. We were already there and it's so hard for us to find time to go out alone like this, so we just queued up. We got tickets to the 4.30pm show which was still shown as Available on the screens. If that's true, how come we were on the 3rd row from the screen? I hate to ask what the seating is like for the 3.20pm show that was already marked as Selling Fast. Had some time to kill so went makan-makan first.

I wasn't a big fan of the first movie, so I wasn't all that hyped to see this one initially. Then I found out that it's the same director as Pan's Labyrinth, yeay! All in all, my absolute favourite part was in the beginning of the movie where it was very Tim Burton like, with all the puppet like figures in Hellboy's imagination when his father told him the story. Oh, and the second best bit? The Elvish prince of course!

Yes, Prince Nuada can't hold a candle to Legolas, but you have to admit he's way macho one! What is it about fair and powerful immortals? Kinda like Anne Rice's version of the undead. So damn sexy! Yummy yummy.

The ending sucked a bit. I mean, you'd think that the so-called indestructible Golden Army would have more role to play other than being a cheap imitation of Transformers but maybe they ran out of budget or something. Oh, and and the highlight of the outing coming up in the next post. Go me!
