James McAvoy is suddenly so buff in this movie. Me like! Not that he wasn't hot as Robbie Turner in Atonement before, but he had to have an English accent for and barely lost his clothes for the movie. This time he gets to keep his Scottish brogue and take off his clothes and make out with Angelina Jolie. Wah-lau! Scottish accent is such a turn on!

Darn you, Kenny Rogers!

Got a new haircut, yesterday. Go me! I went to SNIPS inside Cheras Leisure Mall, 'cause I'm such a lazy ass to go all the way to Maju Junction to Derrick's where I usually to go. All I wanted was a haircut since my hair has gotten to a stage where it was just plain weird. Instead, I spent RM276 instead including some hair care products I'm not really sure I need. Huh? I just get so confused!! I have oily scalp AND frizzy hair so I need special shampoo but any normal conditioner will do? And the fucking styling product is for curls and costs RM118 per bottle? But if I buy 3 products I get a free treatment session, so that's okay, I think [O_o] Oh, and the writing on the bottles are freaking Japanese so for all I know, it says "We actually only cost RM8.95 so you've been tricked, you fool". Or not. The treatment card is valid for 2 weeks so maybe I'll go right before going to Saradiana's wedding in Segamat, where ever that is hehe

BTW, the curls in the picture is all mine. I didn't do any perms or whatever. I just put some stuff in my hear, scrunched it a bit and voila! That was what drew me in in the first place, the stylist swore it would be easy to apply and make my hair easier to manage. So, if it doesn't I'll throw the bottle, with the product that can last me for 7 lifetimes coz it's so damn big, in his face.

I set the appointment for 7.30pm with a professional stylist who charge RM60 and above per haircut. When I got there, the pro stylist has gone home. Hmmph! He obviously never bothered to check his Blackberry. Anyways, I had a choice of a senior stylist or a junior stylist. The senior ones cost RM45 and the junior ones RM25. I chose the senior one. Heck, if I can't have the best damn it, I demand second best! Wrong choice. He intimidated me into purchasing the hair stuff. I mean, he really knew his sh*t and never argue with a man who is holding a scissors 2 inches away from your face.

I still think I look like a poodle, but hey, at what I paid for it, I'll learn to love it!

p.s. The title of my post is actually on an icon from french_sorbette's collection. I totally adore it!

Test Note: Read the descriptions below to avoid misinterpreting test results (for example, the Antisocial classification does not mean you are a loner, it means you tend to be insensitive towards others).
General Note: the validity and reliability of DSM personality disorders are still lacking in strong statistical evidence and clear agreement in the scientific and medical community. They are determined by the American Psychiatric Association and will likely be revised in the future.
Author Note:I don't think Schizoid personality is a valid disorder (read), some of the smartest people in history were schizoid because they occupied a remote end of the intelligence bell curve. Schizotypal personality can encompass highly original thinkers as well as totally insane people so I think it's a flawed type. I think the remaining eight disorders are generally valid.

Mystery of the missing green pashmina

>> Monday, June 23, 2008

I got in this morning and it was fucking cold from the minute I stepped in the office. If I had balls or implants, they would be frozen by now. When I got to my workstation and reached for my green shawl, it wasn't there. WTF? I called up my hubby to see if I accidentally left it in the car, but I know that wasn't possible. Last Friday we all went to team dinner at TGIF (wait, Liza will upload the photos one for sure hehehehehe) and I walked there. I think I would remember if I dragged it with me all over Jalan Raja Chulan O_o

In the frigid temperature, I ate my egg sandwich. Was feeling kinda nostalgic coz I had that damn thing since I was back in Celcom. I was complaining to Liza when Marissa who was filling her water bottle overheard me. She told me that she saw my green shawl on the couch. It was there this morning together with her pillow as well.

Woops! Someone must've used my poor baby as a blanket. Sorry for the fuss. Next time, I'm leaving my stuff in my drawer and keep it under lock and key mwahahahahaha

Muse - Time Is Running Out

I've had this song in my head for 2 days now! I'm constantly humming it. I need to get it out of my system.

Muse - Time Is Running Out

I think I'm drowning
asphyxiated
I wanna break this spell
that you've created

you're something beautiful
a contradiction
I wanna play the game
I want the friction

you will be the death of me
you will be the death of me

bury it
I won't let you bury it
I won't let you smother it
I won't let you murder it

our time is running out
our time is running out
you can't push it underground
you can't stop it screaming out

I wanted freedom
bound and restricted
I tried to give you up
but I'm addicted

now that you know I'm trapped sense of elation
you'd never dream of
breaking this fixation

you will squeeze the life out of me

bury it
I won't let you bury it
I won't let you smother it
I won't let you murder it

our time is running out
our time is running out
you can't push it underground
you can't stop it screaming out
how did it come to this?
ooooohh

you will suck the life out of me

bury it
I won't let you bury it
I won't let you smother it
I won't let you murder it

our time is running out
our time is running out
you can't push it underground
you can't stop it screaming out
How did it come to this?
ooooohh

I had a go with a racist prick yesterday, fucking jerk! So thus, I have been formally initiated into the Microsoft family LOL. Erm, well, it wasn't so funny yesterday but today is a new day and all that crap. SL is 6.94% (!) at the moment. That can't be a good sign. I had a bad. ominous feeling about coming to work today, which was confirmed when my little girl threw up on me on the way to send her to her daycare. *SIGH* If I was anything superstitious, I should be running away, away from here and go back to the safety of my bed and my computer. Oh, and did I mention that my my Sony Ericson K810i fell from my pocket when I was in the toliet too? *SOB*

Speaking of which, my wunnerful beta, Rosie, has been whipping her crack (EDIT: I meant cracking her whip! LOL. But she can whip her crack at me anytime LOL) at me to get on with chapter 2. I totally wanted to get on that last night, I swear! But I've just been so tired these past few days. I did make a header and like 7 whole icons over the weekend, (sarcastic) wheeee! Haven't posted the icons but I did upload one for my own use. I suck at the whole text thing in icons. Cropping and coloring is the only I can do. Boo! Hmmm. I need a OTP icon made now!

I almost forgot all the LJ tags and since I've been spoilt rotten by Blogger posting in a WYSIWYG HTML editor, had to scratch my head a bit for the HTML codes too LOL. Erm, I really, really need to start working on a new layout and some new icons. I'm bored with the ones I have now. Still dizzy. And still deep in my fandom. Go Team Peter!!

Teh prettiness that is 'English choir boys' - as I prefer to call it - has led me to rediscover my passion for fanfic writing, yeay me! But erm, as is expected, it's slash *lowers face guiltily*. I have written and typed up the prologue and is now going through the process of writing the first chapter from my notes. I know I should have kept writing last night but it seemed that by the time I finished taking down my notes, my inspiration was already fast asleep in her own bed with her Hing King Peter plushie, selfish b***ch! I just wanted to make sure that I had a spare chapter up before I even post anything and with this erm, slight delay, I'll just have to be content to publish it by next week. On the plus side, that gives me time to update my LiveJournal layout as well, so maybe it's all for the best. I might post it on ff.net by the end of the day just for the heck of it, though. I'm not gonna announce my ff.net account here coz there's children reading this ~ that means you, Byxura! Hahahaha. My stories are for open minded adults only, so kids and homophobes need not apply.

He's only going to grow more beautiful so watch this space!

Prince Caspian OST: The Call by Regina Spektor

It started out as a feeling
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word

And then that word grew louder and louder
'Til it was a battle cry

I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye

Just because everything's changing
Doesn't mean it's never
Been this way before

All you can do is try to know
Who your friends are
As you head off to the war

Pick a star on the dark horizon
And follow the light

You'll come back
When it's over
No need to say good bye

Now we're back to the beginning
It's just a feeling and now one knows yet
But just because they can't feel it too
Doesn't mean that you have to forget

Let your memories grow stronger ans stronger
'Til they're before your eyes

You'll come back
When it's over
No need to say good bye

Full house.. I mean, tank??

This was the scene at the BHP petrol station in front of my house last night. Veeery lucky for me, my husband had already filled up full tank before they even announced it so we were spared the agony of waiting in Q just to get save RM20. I've heard chilling stories of people waiting for over an hour (!) to fill petrol. Traffic jam was horrific and fights have ensued over spare change.

Okay, so I made that last one up, but it could've happened!

So basically now...

Price increase

Petrol – RM0.78/litre
Diesel – RM1/litre
Electricity:
Commercial and industrial – 26%
Retailers and small restaurant operators – 18% (for first 200kWh per month)
Residential – new pricing structure for users above 200kWh per month

Prices effective today (per litre)

Petrol – RM2.70 (previously RM1.92)
Diesel – RM2.58 (previously RM1.58)

Rebates

> RM625 per year
For private vehicle with engine capacity of 2000cc and below, including private pickup trucks and jeeps with engine capacity of 2500cc and below.

> RM150 per year
For each private motorcycle with engine capacity of 250cc and below

> RM200 reduction on road tax
For private petrol and diesel vehicles with engine capacity above 2000cc

> RM50 reduction on road tax
For private motorcycles with engine capacity above 250cc

Streamlined diesel subsidy
(for approved transportation companies, vessel owners and fishermen)

> Diesel – RM1.43 per litre (previously RM1 per litre for fishermen and RM1.20 per litre for vessel owners)

> RM200 per month for every owner and employee of Malaysian-owned vessels registered with the Fisheries Department

> 10sen per kilo incentive for every kilogram of fish caught by registered vessels

> 10sen per litre for every litre of diesel used by river transportation operators according to approved quota

Gas subsidies restructure
(for Peninsular Malaysia)

> For power producers – from RM6.40 per mmBtu to RM14.31 per mmBtu

> For industrial users (consuming less than 2mmscfd) – from RM9.40 per mmBtu to RM24.54 per mmBtu

> For industrial users (consuming above 2mmscfd) – from RM11.32 per mmBtu to RM32.56 per mmBtu

Electricity tariff restructure

> Households using 200kWh and below every month will not be affected. This covers 59% of households in Peninsular Malaysia with a monthly bill under RM43.60.

> Commercial and industrial users face 26% increase. Small retail and business outlets consuming under 200kWh per month face 18% increase.

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and Natural Gas for Vehicle (NGV)

> No change. Prices remain at RM1.75 per kg (LPG) and RM0.635 per litre (NGV)

Service tax threshold for restaurants and eateries

> Service tax now for restaurants with annual sales of RM3mil (previously RM500,000)

It seems that the government will save RM13.7bil from all of this but will still continue to subsidize RM0.30 off the current global market price.

" ... From the savings, he (Abdullalh) said RM4bil would go to the National Food Supply Guarantee Policy, RM1.5bil for subsidising cooking oil and RM400mil to subsidise rice imports to make the price uniform in peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak. The Government would also spend RM200mil on flour subsidy, RM100mil on bread subsidy and RM7.5bil was meant for contributions to the subsidies for petrol, diesel and gas.On top of that, Abdullah said, the Government would have to fork out RM5bil to pay to owners of cars and motorcycles eligible for rebates introduced under the restructuring of subsidy package

Our effort is certainly not an attempt to be popular but we try our best to help the people. We cannot satisfy everyone,” he said..."

Rrrright... I think I need to post something else now. I'm getting depressed

Red Alert! Petrol price RM2.70 per litre!

>> Wednesday, June 4, 2008

OMFG! Who are they shitting? A RM0.78 increase per litre is murder. I mean, I know that the government is paying something like RM55B in subsidy but the least they could do was do a gradual increase or something. Increase it RM0.20 per month or something ,you know? At this rate, I demand political figures to ride a bicycle or walk to the office. If I have to see one of them in a nice petrol guzzling car that is paid with our money, hell hath no fury... Mark my words, once petrol price goes up, everything else will too. We're still struggling with rice crisis, now this! Gee, thanks a lot Pak Lah. Way to go to show an understanding of the people's needs.

Petrol to cost RM2.70 from midnight

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on Wednesday announced the new price for petrol is RM2.70 a litre, effective midnight tonight.

He announced that the price of petrol would be increased by 78sen and diesel by RM1.

The 40% increase in petrol price is part of the new fuel subsidy plan the Prime Minister announced at 5pm Wednesday.

The price of diesel goes up to RM2.58 from RM1.58.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

I have finally seen this movie, but hey, give me a break, this is the first movie I've actually gone and seen in the cinemas since I was 5 months pregnant and my little girl is 1 years old now! Erm, the last movie I saw back then was 300 btw. I think both me and my little girl enjoyed it, she kicked me around in my stomach enough to confirm it. Ouch!

I like the first one better. For one, it remained mostly true to the book and I've seen the animated version of it like a dozen times as a child so watching it in with real life people was like getting a free wish from a genie. Come to think of it, that was probably a bad analogy. If I HAD one wish from a mystical genie, why would I want to waste it with something trivial as getting a book to be animated? Although.. watching someone try to make The Silmarillion into a watcahable movie within, erm 4 hours, might be amusing LOL

As a CGI and an action movie, Prince Caspian fares pretty well, but as a fantasy movie adapted from an epic, it did pretty poorly. Like I discussed with my husband ~ or rather I discussed it with my self and he listened ^_^ ~ it could've played up on the emotion aspect a bit. LOTR was adapted from a book too and there was ample time to explore the main character's emotional bit so there really is no reason for Andrew Adamson to say there isn't. He did well with The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe so I guess the pressure's on this time from the head honchos of Disney or Walden Media or something.

Anyways, it was just a fair watch but ahhh... British school boys are just so easy on the eyes aren't they? Even when they're barely legal themselves
