Now what did we ever do to them? Hmmph! Bloody English and their superiority complex.

National Artiste Day: P. Ramlee, My Hero

It seems that the government has finally deemed it worthy to name a day after our finest artiste - P. Ramlee. Now ask anyone who really knows me and they will tell you that I have this obsession with this man. I DO NOT watch Malay movies - God save us from all the Sembilu-s of this world - but P. Ramlee movies I know by heart, at least the funny ones. I can't bring myself to watch the more serious ones. I watched the first 15 minutes of Si Penarik Beca and have since become traumatized for life. For the record, I don't watch Hindi movies either for more or less the same reason, but I digress. My favourite P. Ramlee movies of all times are Seniman Bujang Lapok, Pendekar Bujang Lapok and Tiga Abdul. Who can ever forget the spontaneous joke Aziz and Sudin made about the rented house that is 7 x 3 x 6? LOL That one is a classic!

Here are my Top 5 classic P. Ramlee moments in order, I think

5 - "Aku mati dalam iman..."- Ali Baba Bujang Lapok
4 - Letter reading time - Pendekar Bujang Lapok
3 - " Cobaan " - Pendekar Bujang Lapok
2 - " King mana? King Kong! King Kong kepala hotak kau " - Seniman Bujang Lapok
1 - " 7 kaki panjangnya, 3 kaki lebarnya. Ada dalam pulak tu... " Seniman Bujang Lapok

The man's a genius and a true patriot. I'm glad that he is getting his dues at last, albeit 3 decades too late.

Re: Supporting the call for harsher punishment on rapists

>> Thursday, May 29, 2008

This is my response to this post on The Star Online Blog.

I agree when you say that there should be harsher punishments for rapists. The laws we have regarding it right now is not nearly enough. Public whipping sounds like a good idea too, but I disagree slightly with your last paragraph.

Rape is about power, not sex. Most rape are premeditated rather than be victims of chance and are usually done by someone the victim already know e.g. a neighbor, a friend, a relative. The number of those who "succumb to their baser needs" is relatively low. The number of rape cases and the severity of it on the rise though and as a woman and a mother of a little girl, I am deeply concerned.

I am very passionate about this issue. I really want to make a difference. Rape victims are just that - victims. They should not be penalized in any way for what was done to them. Those who commit this heinous crime not only violated their victims physically, but mentally as well. They should pay their dues in full and not with just a slap on the wrist.

No More Gossip for Me

>> Tuesday, May 27, 2008

Arrrgh! I've run out of Gossip Girl episodes to watch! What will I do now during the free time at work with high speed broadband just at my finger tips? I have to admit, I've become quite addicted to the show. The whole series started off slow but starts to get better at the end of the third episode.

To be quite honest, the whole 'Oh, Serena's back? Why did she leave in the first place?' plot was a bit cliché. Rurouni Kenshin wins in that category of plot line hands down. What caught my attention was Blair Waldorf's complex character and storyline. Why did she turn on her former best friend? Was it just to become the most popular girl in school? Or was there a more personal reason? Pretty boy Nate Archibald was hardly an excuse IMHO.

In the season finale, Dan and Serena's rich girl-poor boy plot has finally come to an end, thank God, but I have no doubts they will rekindle things and somehow manage to blurt out their true feelings for each other some time in the earlier episodes? Here are the rest of my predictions for the second season, in case the show gets picked up by a network, which I'm pretty sure they will due to the high ratings.. Here we go!

  1. Lily will dump Bart after yet another session of mad, passionate sex with Rufus - again.
  2. Pretty boy Nate discovers his true calling and hooks up with Eric ~ Ahhh.. pretty boy love... hey I can dream can't I?
  3. My favourite spawn of Satan couple (Chuck and Blair) will get together and becomes Upper East Side's most beautiful and evil couple
  4. Georgina will be back and she will team up with Jenny ~ I actually see this one coming true truth be told
I'm so bored. I think I'll go watch Chuck now. Cheers!

Customers may be always right but that does not mean they're always smart

I'm getting the cream of the crop today. So far, I've had 2 dumbass customers have so far that ruined my AHT to a point it'll take a LOT of continuation cases for me to recover - and I don't trust my luck today. Grrrrr!!!! But at the least the first one had the decency to apologize coz she knows that it's not my fault and I am trying to help her but the big fishes call the shots, you know?

The second one, MR Dumbass as he shall be known as from now, was a total jerk off. Ever heard of End Users License Agreement? He just goes on how he's an electronics engineer and he knows what he's talking about (yeah, right) and that he'll tell Bill Gates *coughcoughcough* what he thinks of the products blah blah blah... In the end he just says "Oh, I'll switch to Linux 'cause at least they have some sort of support..."

All I can say is good luck to penguins in the fedora hats. Mwahahahahahaha!!!!

Still got the flu, damn it! Wouldn't be so bad if I didn't actually have to open my mouth and speak, but hey no wait a minute, that's exactly what I do for a living! *grumblegrumblegrumble* I can barely breathe let alone speak while doing it. Customers are having a tough time understanding me too and who can blame them? Can't take anymore MCs no matter how valid my reasons are coz I'm still in probation period here in my new workplace. I may be the Queen of MCs at my old workplace but here I am reformed. I have renounced my old self for a new me. A brand new dawn is here and urgh... my brain can't take all this epiphany thing.

Hand me my Minyak Cap Kapak, please...

David A. vs David C: Who will be the next American Idol?

>> Wednesday, May 21, 2008

Round One

Round Two

Round Three

I'll be honest and admit that after the last two shows that I thought that David C. was a sure shot winner for AI but boy, has the finale proven me wrong! I mean, I've been a fan of David A. since I saw him singing Imagine by John Lenonn but David Cook's version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Music of the Night blew me away. He consistently gave good performances since then whereas David A. was bordering on average. I'm never been so happy to be proven wrong!

My money's on David A. Even Simon agrees with me - so there!!

This is my heart.. yesterday

She's done it again. I'm so pissed! I wish she would just stop being so manipulative and so... her! It makes me so sad to feel that all I'm worth is how much I'm making per annum. Is that all that I am? An RM making machine for others without any thought to how I feel underneath all of this faked contentment? I just have so many issues with this that Freud would have a field day.

Oh, and erm, the chicken was already dead when I got there. My fork was in no way the murder weapon. I swear!

" Somebody gonna get hurt reaaal bad. Somebody "

I'm testing the option to directly update my blog thru phone - yeay me!! But erm, it takes like ten minutes to update on the server - which is fine - except that I had to resend the MMS a few times before it gets through, but hey! That's Celcom's issue, not Blogspot. And the picture gets resized A LOT but at least it works right?

Anyways, I took this photo a few days ago along the MRR2. I couldn't help but notice the size of the trunks of the trees on the truck (EDIT: Hehehe.. " trunks of the trees on the truck.. " Fun-nee!) They're huge! I'm no tree expert but they've got to be like a hundred years old or something. And this really bugs me, how could anyone cut down trees that have lived longer than they have and not feel anything? Remorse, guilt, shame - ring any bells? In the actual picture in my mobile phone, you can actually see the license plate of the truck. Thank God for Cybershot technonolgy huh?

If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll mail you the license plates (that means you - NGOs, environmentalists..) Somebody should investigate this. The nerve of some people doing something like this, and in broad erm, dusk-light too!

Speaking of " somebody" LOL, that reminds me of Rusell Peters famous quote, "Somebody gonna get hurt reaal bad. Somebody. " Find this on Youtube! You don't know what you're missing until you've seen it!!

I'm on WikiMapia!! Well, kinda'...

I wanted to look for an easy way to download a map so that I can attach it to my little girl's birthday party invitation this Saturday. I actually thought I would just print screen from WikiMapia and edit in Photoshop but I found a better way to do it - yeay! I could actually save the location and direct people the url so that they can view it online. How cool is that?

Erm... Geek much? LOL
Birthday invitation is still in the works. Coming reee-al soon I promise, well, sort of..
